Primarily a tax practice. The majority of the clients are highly educated, internet savvy, average age 30 – 50 years old, working in technology-based companies such as Cisco, AMD, NetApp, HP, etc. These companies are very close in location to the office. There is some tax planning in the non-tax season regarding the exercise and hold, or exercise and sale of stock (RSU’s, NQ’s, ISO’s, ESPP’s). The seller prefers that the buyer’s office be within ten miles of the existing office if the seller's office is not retained. 100% of the clients meet with the seller at the office. The hourly consulting rate is $225 per hour. This practice is booked solid for the 2012 tax season (Jan – April 15th) with some 2013 appointments by the request of the clients. This is a thriving practice that grows each year without any marketing or networking effort.
